When considering the prompt, “Remaking Histories”, my mind immediately went to the Civil Rights Movement and how we are seeing a lot of correlation in today’s news. With all the protests in local cities and arguments being fought over social media, it amazes me that we are still having these same fundamental debates about human lives that should not be debates at all. I focused on highlighting these arguments in my animation while not only pushing my own agenda. My color scheme stems from the Black Lives Matter Movement colors, although I did not specifically mention that it was about this topic; I want the colors to allude to it. I also want to emphasize the idea that we need to have these uncomfortable discussions with our friends and family who disagree. It honesty comes down to simply caring about other lives and lived experiences. History is repeating itself, so what side of history will you be on?
