A Transient Space To Return To

Van Aileen

A Transient Space To Return To is a sculptural installation that invites viewers to reconsider home as something intangible, traveling with us through our loved ones, our memories, and the roots we carve. It asks how we might create spaces of gathering, joy, and culture in a time when these narratives are often suppressed. And perhaps, how it feels to be a hermit crab, moving from shell to shell.

EXIT(FLOCK)

Izzie Alvarez

In the nineteenth century, women were often represented as birds; caged, ornamental, valued for their beauty and compliance. Two centuries later, the cage has changed shape, but this symbolism remains. “EXIT (FLOCK)” features twenty-five written works layered onto a sculptural element exploring the exploitation of women throughout history, coinciding with the use of symbols and metaphors often used to represent femininity. Deep-rooted patriarchal systems sustain this cycle of commodification and destruction in the current day; these ideals persist not only through force but through repetition, cycles, and language. Printed on thermal receipt paper, a booklet archives these works while inherently exploring the transactional nature of relationships and cyclical decay.

We Humans: The Kiara Rig

Xantha Cronrath

We Humans is a web series that explores the complexities of human instinct and the process of relearning how to recognize and appreciate the subtle, often overlooked aspects of ourselves. This thesis presents the first iteration of a 3D character developed for the series, Kiara. The model was fully designed, textured, and rigged from the ground up using Blender.
